Hardins Chapel Church was established in 1800. Around 1735, the famous English preacher and revivalist, John Wesley traveled to Georgia and began sharing the Methodist movement that started with him and his brother Charles in England. During this time, many preachers that studied under Wesley, began traveling the neighboring states, preaching the Gospel and assisting with families to plant new churches in their local community. Hardins Chapel Church was an original family Methodist church that started in Greeneville, Tennessee. The current location on Baileyton Road is the church's second position in Greene County.

Today, over 220 years later, Hardins Chapel Church is still an active witness for Christ in the local community. In 2023, the church made some organization changes and became an independent Christian community church. Although the church stands strong in rich history, it is beginning a new chapter of growth. The church is relaunching with a heart to share the good news of Jesus Christ and to see many people come to grow in their relationship with God.
